First I want Welcome all my new followers. It is an honor to have you in my little slice of cyberspace.
I have finally finished and photographed my Tag for the first Week in Linda's 12 Tags of Christmas Challenge. from her Blog The Funkie Junkie. If you have not heard about this challenge and would like to participate you have until December 17th, 2012 to get your entries in.
My tag kind of took on a different look than I wanted, but I guess that is the point of trying new things :-)
Here is Linda's Inspiration Tag
Linda did a wonderful job. I love how "Shabby" it kind of looks along with all the stars and soft colors.
Now, I do not have all the materials Linda has access to, so this is what my little tag looks like
I used a light colored patterned paper with white swirls that are already embossed. (This worked out perfect since I have nothing I can do my own embossing with.)
Next I had a wooden Star I inked with various Tim Holtz Distress Inks. You can purchase these at Linda's Boutique
I love sparkle so I used a pearl essence glitter on top of the star as the ink was drying.
I kept layering on the glitter until I was happy with it and then sealed it with Modge Podge.
I added a flower in the middle of the star with a champagne colored pearl in the middle of the flower. I also used matching ribbon at the top of the tag.
Not as fancy as Linda's, but I think it turned out pretty awesome. I already have the perfect Christmas bag picked out!!
I am also almost finished with Week #5. Hopefully I should have that posted some time next week.
Until Next Time, Happy Sales

DeleteSuper piece of work, Tracie! Your color combo and your pretty glittered star are perfect. The challenge is all about inspiration and you don't have to worry that you don't have products, just create with what's at hand and HAVE FUN! This is a terrific interpretation of Tag #2!
