The 12 Tags of Christmas #2

Happy Monday my friends.
Hope your weekend was fun and relaxing.
I spent most of mine working on a project for my graphic design class.
Hopefully it will be ready by the due date.

I am embarrassed to show you guys my second tag.
After seeing what everyone else is submitting mine is just pitiful.

Anyway, here is Linda's wonderful inspiration tag from The Funkie Junkie
For my tag, I went with a different color pallet but used the reindeer for my focal.
As you can see, it is nothing fancy and I almost didn't post it!!
I am still 3 weeks behind and hopefully my next tag will be better.

My ATC Swap with ArtJoyStuff

Happy Monday my bloggy friends!
Hope everyone had a decent weekend.
It rained where I am.
I have not seen sunshine in over a week....Yuck! Starting to get depressing.

I am swapping ATCs with my friend Kimberly from the blog ArtJoyStuff.
I LOVE her work!
She is so talented and comes up with the most amazing pieces!
You should drop by her blog and take a look around.
Just be prepared for "ooohing, and awwwing"!

This is the ATC I am lucky enough to receive from Kim.
I just LOVE the moon!!
This is the ATC I made for her.
I hope she likes it.
I have called it "Nature".
I used a brownish green fabric as the main background.
Then I added a piece of burlap diagonally for something different.
The focal bird pendant is one of my favorites.
I have been holding onto it for just the right occasion.
I added a trim of green leaves with a pretty little rose to help accent the "Nature" theme and finished it off with a butterfly at the top.
Thank you for dropping by!

I have joined in the newest Lunagirl Blog Challenge, Lady Blue.
I really had a lot of fun with this one.
I went digital again. I am still learning how to add this and cut that.
I even found "Blue Roses"!! Talk about amazing!

My Symbol of the Sun and Moon

Happy Friday Blogland!! Hope you are looking forward to the weekend. I know I am!! I plan on sleeping  most of it...lol

Today I am going to show you my first ever drawing.
Part of my work for my Graphic Design class was to design and draw a symbol for the Sun and Moon.
We could either pick one or combine them. I chose to combine them.

Please no laughing, or throwing of tomatoes and raw vegetables; that would just make your computer screen all messy.
Basically my symbol is a representation of how opposition can lead to unity.
Though it does look more like a first grader's artwork; have I mentioned I CAN NOT draw.....lol

I would love to know what YOUR interpretation is!!

A Lady of Pink Roses Shabby Collage

Welcome fellow bloggers and friends. I am honored you dropped by.
I hope everyone is having a good week so far.
I have been busy with school work, and trying to find a part time job.
At this point, I honestly believe I could not PAY a company to hire me!! (sigh)
I am very frustrated in case you couldn't tell...lol.

Below is a new image I had been working on.
It seems unfinished to me. I think it lacks "Sparkle".
Maybe you guys can do something with it.

Vintage Lady Triples her Surroundings!!

It is either really, really early, or really, really late depending on where you live.
I am having a hard time sleeping; there is just so much going on inside my head.

I sincerely hope everyone else has or had a good night's rest.
Since I am awake, I thought I would go ahead and post another digital collage I made.
I used a combination of three different backgrounds, a pretty vintage lady, and a few photos of live flowers....not that you can tell.

I have been playing around with Photoshop trying to see about all these blending modes.

Please feel free to use this image any way you wish. Just right click and save.
I think it would look amazing as a fabric block.
I would love to hear your feedback!!

A Digital Image Made Just for You

Happy Sunday all my wonderful bloggy friends.
A huge warm welcome to my new followers. I am honored you joined us.

I have for you today a digital image I created.
I hope you like it.
I thought the colors were perfect for a Fall image.
Just right click and save.
The main background was a freebie from Astrid of the blog "Astrid's Artistic Efforts". I just love her work and highly recommend popping over there if you are not already familiar with her beautiful creations.

I used one of my favorite images of a little vintage girl with a golden crown. I think she is so pretty!

The gold frame I used was from my "Artful Photoshop" class.
I added a few roses and matching feathers to compliment Astrid's background, and added a few roses to the little girl's hands.

I did a lot of playing around with the blending modes.
One of these days I will understand what they are instead of just hitting them until I find a look I want....lol

The "Pretty" ATC Swap

Happy Friday all my wonderful bloggy friends.
Welcome to my new followers! I am thrilled you could join us.

Today I want to show you the ATCs I made for a swap hosted by ArtJoyStuff.
The theme is "Pretty".  I hope these qualify.
I used papers from Prima's Firefly Collection.
The three dimensional stickers I have had sitting around forever and I thought they went with the papers perfectly.
Here are a few close ups.

Thank you all for dropping by.

Free Image and a Tag

Hello Blog Land!
A huge welcome to you and all my awesome new followers.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.
The sun is shinning at the moment where I am.
I am so sick of rain, rain, rain...even though we need it, it is still depressing to see all the time.

I have been playing around with Photoshop Elements trying different blending modes and layers.
I still have no clue what I am doing...haha!
I am not very happy with the result of the above image. I find I either get it too dark or too light. (I will have to play with it some more).

You are welcome to use this image any way you wish. Just right click and save.
I think it needs a frame or boarder. What do you think?

The main background, little tag on the right, and the yellow butterflies are all free images from "Astrid's Artistic Efforts".

The Yellow Fairy is a purchased graphic from "Done 4 You Pages" on Etsy.

The purple hummingbird and roses are some I already had and do not know where they originated from....sorry.

I also added a script background image I have from the "Artful Photoshop" class I took.

For Tag Tuesday this week's theme was Complimentary Colors.
(Yes, I am so late in posting my tag....lol)

I chose purple...(no surprise there) and yellow.
Kind of hard to tell but I used distress inks in "Milled Lavender, and "Dusty Concord" on my tag itself. (You can purchase these and other distress inks at "The Funkie Junkie Boutique"

I also used a few Prima flowers, a dark purple rose applique and the purple flower in the little girl's hair from "Flights of Fancy".

I used Purple Fun Fur to boarder around the digital portion and added a purple and yellow sentiment "Each Moment is a Gift" by K&Company.

I finished it off with yellow seam binding and more purple fun fur all tied in a sloppy bow....(I am not the best bow maker....lol)

I used a free ATC Background image from "Astrid's Artistic Efforts" and then used Photoshop to blend the image of the little girl in purple. (I do not remember where that image came from).
Hope you like my tag and the above free image.
Thank you so much for dropping by.

Bloggers Untie - Me, Dean Designs!!

I suppose it is a little vain to post myself on my own blog as this weeks Blogger's Unite Featured Artist.

Though Anne Hopfer from "On Fire For Handmade" and "Made for me by Oaklie" did such an awesome job with the feature photo it would have been rude not to post it...lol.

Thank you Anne so much for everything!!

An ATC and Some News

Hello all my bloggy friends.  Thank you so much for dropping by.
A huge warm welcome to all my new followers! I am so grateful for each and every one of you!

First I would like to share a bit of news with everyone.
It appears I am "Going Back to School" after all these centuries......lol.
The Higher Education Community will never be the same!!

It is my intention to obtain my degree in Graphic Design.
I am fascinated with the digital world and hope to redesign it in my image....lol. (ok, not MY image, but you get the idea)

Enough about me.
Now I would like to show you a very simple ATC I made for a friend of mine.
I really hope she likes it.
