I am not sure if you follow Linda Coughlin over at the Funkie Junkie. If you do that is awesome and you already know about the 12 Tags of Christmas Challenge she has going on. You have until December 17th to enter each one.
For those of you that don't follow her blog, please pop over and check it out. Lots of "Crafty Goodness."
Personally I have not entered the contest but I was inspired to create a tag based off of Linda's Week #3. Take a look at her fantastic work.
Linda's Tag from Week #3 |
Linda is such a wonderful and creative artist! I have learned very much from her.
Now this is the Tag that I made
I used pieces of wrapping tissue and masking tape for the background. I then used "Gesso" to hold it all together. I think the texture came out pretty nifty for my first try. I then used Distress Inks in 2 different shades of blue. (You can purchase these at Linda's Boutique)
The Dove and Angel were free images from the net. I do not remember where. I just printed them on cardstock and then cut them out.
The clear musical instrument is an old Christmas Ornament. I cut silver ribbon and glued it down so it would look like strings....at least it shows up better.....lol
I used cheap silver beads from the dollar store as my trim. I then used blue and silver ribbon to tie a bow at the top. I added a little button to the middle of the bow to cover a glue stain...hahahaha.
Here are a few more close ups
Until Next Time, Happy Sales

ReplyDeleteOh, how wonderful this is, Tracie! Love the blue color palette you have used and the vintage images are terrific. And the violin - WOW! Is that ever cool. You did a fantastic job on the tag. I do hope you will be entering it into Week #3 to show it off to the rest of the challenge gang! And thanks for your kind words about my challenge and my work!
